Band of flowers
Darren Song

23.08.24 - 26.08.24

In the realm of shifting senses,
A band of flowers gathers,
Their beauty bloom so divine,
Our fragile hearts entwine,
Bending thoughts to mind’s end,
A soothing song to life’s mend.

'Band of Flowers' portrays the interconnectedness of people, and us, much like flowers - beautiful, unique, and resilient despite their fragility. It pays homage to our relationship with one another, and serves as a tribute to our collective strength and perseverance in the face of adversity.

Darren Song is a Singaporean creative director and artist based in Melbourne, Australia. He combines his knowledge and strength in graphic design and art direction with his passion for art to produce effective and inspiring work that sits at the intersection of art and design. His personal work involves hand-stitching with thread onto paper ephemeral, reinterpreting this traditionalart form through ongoing exploration in new ways of shape, form, colour and meaning. This results in vivid tactile landscapes that establish a dialogue between the past and present, giving ephemera a sense of renewal.
