Jessie Spencer Smith is an American born artist based in Naarm. She recently completed her BFA in Painting at the Victorian College of the Arts. This is her first solo exhibition.

Market Research is a body of work made in response to a short chapter from Clarice Lispector’s novel An Apprenticeship or The Book of Pleasures (110-112, 1969). The paintings, like the text, explore themes of pleasure, fulfilment, beauty, growth and connection.
